This is accomplished with an appropriate thermoplastic gutta percha obturation system, which will not compromise the structural integrity of the root and at the same time achieve a perfect seal at the area of the apex of the root. It is this seal that will not allow any bacteria to enter in the root canal from infected tissues located near the apex of the root.
