Endodontics (root canal therapy)

Root canal therapies are performed with the most modern, state-of-the-art technological means.

Laser:

With the aid of the Nd (Yag) Laser , we can thoroughly disinfect the root canals of the tooth, any collateral canals present, as well as the tissues around the root. This greatly reduces the therapeutic recovery time, minimizes the use of antibiotics and also achieves results of greater predictability.

Apex locator:

This is an electronic device offering the dentist an invaluable and easy way for determining the exact length of the tooth root. Knowing the exact length of the root canal is absolutely critical in achieving a successful and long-lasting root canal therapy.

Endodontic motor and rotary nickel-titanium files:

It is to our and the patients’ advantage to endodontically treat teeth in a way that both thoroughly debrides the canals of tissue and bacteria, but at the same time does so with the least amount of tooth structure removed. The result of excess tooth structure removed is a root more prone to strip perforation and vertical fracture. The above goals have been achieved consistently with the use of a modern endodontic motor (from VDW Company) and the reciprocating movement of the rotary nickel-titanium files.

Thermoplastic gutta percha obturation system:

After proper instrumentation of the root canal system has been completed and the latter has been shaped and disinfected adequately, the last stage to achieving a high standard of root canal therapy is to perform the root canal obturation. This is accomplished with an appropriate thermoplastic gutta percha obturation system, which will not compromise the structural integrity of the root and at the same time achieve a perfect seal at the area of the apex of the root. It is this seal that will not allow any bacteria to enter in the root canal from infected tissues located near the apex of the root.
